A woman’s criticism of parents bringing strollers to a crowded health clinic has ignited a fierce debate, with netizens defending families and urging empathy.

A WOMAN’s blunt opinion about parents bringing strollers into a crowded health clinic has triggered a heated debate online, with many netizens criticising her for being overly judgemental and lacking empathy towards parents with young children.

The discussion began after the woman shared a post on Threads expressing frustration over seeing both parents arrive at a government health clinic with a stroller, arguing that it unnecessarily occupied valuable space in an already crowded waiting area.

In her post, she wrote: “Sorry, but I honestly judge parents who come to a small, overcrowded government health clinic with a stroller when both the mum and dad are there.

“Let me repeat, I’m talking about situations where both parents come together, not just one parent.

“If it’s only the mum bringing the baby, then I totally understand. Maybe she’s still recovering from childbirth, has abdominal pain, back pain, or simply isn’t physically able to carry the baby yet.

“But when both mum and dad show up with a stroller? The clinic is already cramped and packed with people. That’s one extra thing taking up precious space. Then it’s like you’re bringing the whole house along — the stroller, the baby’s entire setup, everything.

“Why though?”

The post quickly gained traction on social media. However, rather than agreeing with her viewpoint, many netizens came to the defence of parents, arguing that using a stroller is often a necessity rather than a convenience.

Several pointed out that parents may have valid reasons for bringing a stroller, including allowing a sleeping baby to remain undisturbed, carrying essential baby items, or simply making it easier to manage a young child during what could be a lengthy wait at the clinic.

Others also noted that government health clinics regularly cater to infants and young children, making strollers a common and expected sight.

“Why do some people have such a problem with strollers? You can bring a stroller to the mall, so why can’t you bring one to a health clinic? Do you think babies are born knowing how to walk?” one user, fizamustafarkamar, commented.

“The world doesn’t revolve around you, sis. Not every parent brings a stroller to the clinic just because they feel like it.

“Even I don’t use a stroller myself, but I can still understand other people’s situations. The person who should be called out is the man casually sitting cross-legged on a chair, not parents who are already struggling.

“Carrying a child isn’t easy, especially if you’re going to be waiting for a long time. If it were only for a few minutes, that would be different. A little empathy costs nothing, sis,” ayuni.nabila wrote.

“Go judge the men who sit comfortably while pregnant women are forced to stand, sis. Why are you judging people for bringing a stroller? What’s wrong with you?” iqistinaf added.
