Harapan manifesto envisions Negeri Sembilan as a central corridor linking technology, logistics, industrial and human capital sectors.
SEREMBAN: The ‘Negeri Sembilan Kekal Harapan’ (Negeri Sembilan Stays with Harapan) manifesto, which envisions the state as the ‘Central Corridor Pembangunan Harapan Malaysia’, aims to position Negeri Sembilan as a new economic growth hub linking the technology, logistics, industrial and human capital sectors.
Harapan main operations room director Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh and Amanah secretary-general Muhammad Faiz Fadzil, in a joint statement, said that the concept is intended to change the perception that Negeri Sembilan is merely a state located between Kuala Lumpur and Melaka.
“The plan is also supported by high-impact projects such as Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV 2.0), the NS Semiconductor Valley and the Nilai Advanced Photonic AI Manufacturing City.
“This is the message that Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun is seeking to convey clearly – that Negeri Sembilan aims to create more high-paying jobs so that young people will no longer have to migrate to other states,” they said.
The manifesto also highlights the achievements of Aminuddin’s administration since 2018, which can be accessed via the QR code provided.
Last night, Pakatan Harapan (PH) launched its manifesto, outlining 10 key commitments as the coalition’s pledge for the upcoming 16th Negeri Sembilan state election.
The manifesto was launched by Aminuddin, who is also Negeri Sembilan PH chairman. It pledges to deliver a stable, clean and people-friendly government, strengthen the ‘Skim Sejahtera Rakyat’ or People’s Wellbeing Scheme (SSR), build a competitive economy, create 30,000 high-paying jobs, and ensure quality education for all.
Meanwhile, they said Harapan’s main operations room continues to receive reports of acts of sabotage involving campaign materials in several areas, including Labu, Sungai Lui and Palong. They expressed hope that the relevant authorities would step up monitoring efforts and urged all supporters to refrain from engaging in any form of provocation.
They also extended their condolences to the family of an election machinery worker who was killed after he was believed to have been struck by a vehicle while putting up a political party’s flags two days ago.
“Although the victim was not a member of Harapan’s election machinery, we would still like to remind all election workers to take extra safety precautions to avoid any untoward incidents,” they said.
The Election Commission has set July 28 for early voting in the Negeri Sembilan state election, while polling will be held on Aug 1.
