Penang CM Chow Kon Yeow says the new cabinet is a strategic move by PM Anwar to ensure administrative goals are met by the end of the term.
GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow stated that the formation of the new cabinet is a strategic move by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to ensure administrative goals are achieved.
Chow expressed hope that the new cabinet line-up would successfully deliver policies and manage the MADANI economy.
He emphasised that focusing on the “bread and butter” economy is crucial at this time.
“With these goals in mind, I sincerely hope the Cabinet can ensure their respective ministerial agendas are implemented effectively,” he told reporters.
He said this should lead Malaysia toward a more stable environment and strengthen unity.
Chow was met after a franchise agreement signing ceremony between Entopia and the DEMED Group from Turkiye.
Commenting on Sim Tze Tzin’s appointment as Deputy Minister of MITI, Chow said Penang has extensive dealings with the ministry.
He hoped Sim would play a significant role at both the national level and for the state.
Meanwhile, Chow described the appointment of Steven Sim Chee Keong as Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives as timely.
“Steven Sim’s transition from leading the Ministry of Human Resources to a ministry focused on enterprise and entrepreneur development is very meaningful,” he said.
Chow expressed confidence that Sim’s persistence and performance would continue in the new ministry.
He said this would help strengthen the entrepreneurship sector and support the national development agenda. – Bernama
