Flood evacuee numbers fall in three states, unchanged in Johor

Flood evacuee numbers drop in Pahang, Kelantan, and Terengganu relief centres, while Johor’s count remains steady at 356 people.

KUALA LUMPUR: The number of flood victims at relief centres has decreased in Pahang, Kelantan, and Terengganu this evening.

In Johor, the evacuee count remains unchanged from earlier today.

In Pahang, 12,226 people from 4,052 families are sheltering at 79 centres as of 4.40 pm.

This is down from 13,472 evacuees at 81 centres this morning.

Kuantan hosts the most evacuees with 10,573 people across 47 centres.

Other affected districts are Pekan with 965 people, Rompin with 353, Maran with 161, Jerantut with 145, and Lipis with five.

Temerloh and Bera are the latest districts hit, with 22 and two evacuees respectively.

In Terengganu, the number dropped to 1,202 people from 340 families as of 5 pm.

This compares to 1,344 people reported this morning.

Kemaman district has 951 evacuees in 14 centres, while Dungun has 251 people in two centres.

Two relief centres in Hulu Terengganu were closed at noon, with all occupants returning home.

In Kelantan, 74 people from 22 families remain at four centres in Kuala Krai.

This is down from 186 evacuees this morning.

In Johor, the situation is static with 356 people from 93 families still in centres in Mersing.
