Staff wake to boss’ special first day of Ramadan holiday

Malaysian staff wake up to surprise Ramadan holiday, leaving netizens impressed and recalling carefree student days

RAMADAN kicked off with a sweet surprise for staff at one Malaysian office.

Asyiqin shared on Threads that she woke up to a message from her employer in the company WhatsApp group.

Her boss said, “I am giving a day off for all the staff today. Have a good sahur (pre-dawn meal) and Happy fasting, all,” this morning on the first day of Ramadan.

Netizens praised Asyiqin for being lucky to work in such a thoughtful environment.

Ju Ahmad joked, asking if there were any vacancies at her office.

The last-minute holiday announcement also brought back memories for some.

Ashman Wan said, “It feels like going back to your younger days when the lecturer says, ‘Class is cancelled today’.”

Meanwhile, Elyana Farhana expressed gratitude as her boss allowed all staff to leave early at 4.30pm today.
