Spain beat France 5-3 after extra time to win Olympic men's football gold

PARIS: Spain claimed Olympic men’s football gold on Friday after beating hosts France 5-3 in extra time with Sergio Camello scoring a decisive double in a thrilling final.

France had recovered from 3-1 down to equalise through a last-gasp Jean-Philippe Mateta penalty and force extra time, but Camello’s two strikes allowed Spain to take the title for the first time since 1992.
