PETALING JAYA: A fire broke out at an apartment in Ampang on Wednesday, badly damaging three apartment units.

The Selangor State Fire Department Operations centre, in a statement, confirmed the incident saying it had received a distress call at around 3.30pm that day and that fire engines and 17 officers from the Pandan and Ampang fire stations were deployed to the scene. Upon arrival, the operations commander noted three town house units were on fire on the 13th floor of the ‘’Class A’’ building. The fire was brought under control at 3.58pm and fully distinguished at 4.57pm. No casualties were recorded. Damage to each of the units was estimated at 100%, 50% and 30%, respectively.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department deputy director, Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail told theSun that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
