S’gor cops intensify operations with Bukit Aman CID after shootings

Selangor police are working with Bukit Aman’s CID to investigate recent shootings in Klang and Banting, with operations yielding key leads.

SHAH ALAM: Selangor police are intensifying joint operations with the federal Criminal Investigation Department (Bukit Aman CID) following a series of shooting incidents in Klang and Banting.

State police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said this collaboration allows for a wider intelligence network to track down suspects involved in the cases, which have raised public safety concerns.

He confirmed the operations have produced important investigative leads and results.

“The operations have been and are still being carried out in relation to these cases,” Shazeli told a press conference.

He added that further details could not be disclosed as investigations are ongoing.

“What I can say is that the public should have confidence in the police.”

Shazeli noted that resolving cases does not always hinge on immediate arrests, as other legal avenues can be pursued based on the evidence gathered.

In a separate development, police are completing the investigation paper for a popular actor detained in a drug case.

Shazeli said the individual has been released on police bail pending the completion of the paper under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

He also provided an update on an investigation into a childcare centre alleged to have confined an autistic child.

Shazeli said the probe, conducted with Bukit Aman CID, is ongoing as it involves several premises and more than 20 police reports.

The childcare centre in question remains in operation while the investigation continues.
