Deputy PM Ahmad Zahid says Malaysia-China relations will endure despite trade deals with other nations, emphasising mutual prosperity and cooperation.
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s trade agreements with other countries will not impact its strong and lasting relationship with China, according to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He affirmed Malaysia’s commitment to fostering cooperation with China, ASEAN and the global community to drive innovation and investment opportunities.
Speaking at the Global Chinese Economic and Technology Summit (GCET 2025) opening ceremony, Zahid described partnership as Malaysia’s greatest strength in an evolving global landscape.
“Ambassador Ouyang Yujing, don’t worry about any agreement signed with any country,” he told China’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Malaysia.
“Our relationship with China will sustain and will endure forever.”
Zahid emphasised that collective growth between ASEAN and China benefits youth, businesses and communities across the region.
He concluded that such cooperation would build a more prosperous, stable and inclusive future for all involved. – Bernama
