Kampung Sungai Lui becomes KBS’ MADANI Adopted Village in Selangor

The Youth and Sports Ministry selects Kampung Sungai Lui as a MADANI Adopted Village, focusing on infrastructure and youth development programmes

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Youth and Sports has designated Kampung Sungai Lui in Hulu Langat, Selangor, as its MADANI Adopted Village.

This initiative aims to boost rural community development through a multi-agency collaboration.

Partners include the Selangor State Youth and Sports Department and the National Youth Skills Training Institute in Dusun Tua.

Other collaborators are the Kajang Municipal Council and the Hulu Langat District and Land Office.

The project involves significant infrastructure upgrades across the village.

Planned works include renovating multi-purpose courts and resurfacing roads.

It also involves adding parking near the mosque and improving the community centre.

Further upgrades cover roof repairs for a silat court and refurbishing a multi-purpose hall.

Repairs to existing futsal and netball courts are also part of the plan.

Beyond physical development, the ministry has launched various youth and sports programmes.

These initiatives encompass youth entrepreneurship and community sports activities.

The programme also includes volunteer work and basic TVET skills training.

Sports clinics, arts activities, and the Rakan Muda initiative are being rolled out.

KBS expressed confidence the programme will positively impact the local community.

It stated the project provides improved facilities and comprehensive youth development opportunities.

The ministry hopes residents will fully utilise the new facilities and programmes.

It also calls for continued cooperation to ensure the project’s long-term sustainability.

“With the continued support of all parties, KBS is confident that Kampung Sungai Lui will continue to grow as a progressive, sustainable, and prosperous community,” the ministry said.

This aligns with the MADANI government’s aspirations for rural community well-being. – Bernama
