Malaysian hurdler Muhammad Armin Zahryl Abdul Latif secures gold at the Singapore Open, setting a new personal best of 13.82 seconds in the 110m event
KUALA LUMPUR: National hurdler Muhammad Armin Zahryl Abdul Latif won gold in the men’s 110 metres hurdles at the Singapore Open Track and Field Championship.
He achieved a new personal best time of 13.82 seconds at the National Stadium in Singapore.
Singapore’s Ang Chen Xiang took silver with 13.85 seconds. Clinton Kingsley Bautista of the Philippines claimed bronze in 14.22 seconds.
“I’m happy to have recorded a personal best of 13.82 s beating my previous 13.85 s,” Muhammad Armin said. He expressed gratitude to his parents, coach, teammates and fans for their support in a statement posted by Athletics Malaysia.
The athlete revealed his 2026 target had been to run 13.90 seconds. He surpassed that goal with his performance at the championship.
In other events, Malaysian athlete Ng Jing Xuan secured a silver medal in the women’s javelin. Her throw reached a distance of 47.49 metres.
