Jean-Philippe Mateta’s move from Crystal Palace to AC Milan is off after the club raised concerns during his medical, a source confirms.
JEAN-Philippe Mateta’s deadline-day transfer to AC Milan from Crystal Palace has collapsed due to medical concerns.
A source confirmed to AFP that the deal fell through after AC Milan requested further tests on the French striker’s knee.
“The decision had been made to bring his arrival forward by six months,” the source said, adding, “The move has now been abandoned.”

Mateta was omitted from Palace’s squad for their Premier League draw with Nottingham Forest on Sunday in anticipation of the transfer.
The 28-year-old has scored 56 goals for Palace since joining from Mainz, initially on loan, in January 2021.
He was a key part of the side that won last season’s FA Cup but has scored only once in his last 12 appearances this term.
Milan had sought to strengthen their attack to chase down Serie A leaders Inter Milan, whom they trail by eight points.
Italian media reports suggest Juventus could now attempt to sign Mateta before the transfer window closes.
