ONCE in a while, it’s nice to splurge on a luxurious meal for oneself or your family— after all, we work hard for it. But when it comes to dining at a high-end restaurant, let’s be honest, the beverages offered are usually rather pricey.
Most of us would bite the bullet and order a drink but this one Malaysian woman decided to go against the norm with a method that not only amused her son, but netizens as well.
The 12-second TikTok video which has since gone viral was posted by her son, showed his mother at a restaurant with what looks like a rack of ribs in front of her.
She then pulls out a yellow tumbler before proceeding to pour what appears to be iced tea into her empty glass. Once filled, she then sneakily places the tumble beneath the table.
“I invited my mother to have steak but she decided to bring her own beverage from home because the drinks were expensive,” wrote the son in the form of a caption in the video.
Amused by the lady’s antics, netizens couldn’t help but agree with her handy tactic.
“Haha, my mum is like this too!” gushed a netizen.
Another user commented, “I’ve done this before as well because the beverage that I want to order can actually be made at home but at the shop, they hike up the price to as RM8.”
