Traffic to East Coast and north congested but under control

Traffic out of the Klang Valley towards the north and east coast is congested but manageable this morning, with key bottlenecks identified by highway authority.

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic flows heading out of the Klang Valley towards the north and the East Coast are congested but remain under control as of this morning.

A Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesman detailed the specific congestion points on major routes.

On the East Coast route, congestion is reported on the Middle Ring Road 2 towards the Gombak Toll Plaza, and from Bukit Tinggi and Lentang to the Bentong Petronas Station, as well as from Sungai Dua to the Karak Toll Plaza.

“For the route to the north, congestion occurred on the North-South Expressway from Slim River to Tapah, Gopeng to Simpang Pulai, Ipoh North to the Menora Tunnel, Bandar Baharu to Jawi, Bukit Tambun to Bukit Minyak and Juru to Perai,” he said.

Congestion on southern routes is reported from the Port Dickson interchange to Senawang and from Pasir Gudang to Setia Tropika.

The spokesman confirmed that weather conditions this morning are good for travel.

He advised highway users to comply with speed limits and always maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

Users are also advised to plan their journey according to the Recommended Travel Time schedule issued by concessionaires and ensure sufficient rest before travelling.

The public can obtain the latest traffic information via the LLM toll-free line at 1-800-88-7752.

Live traffic conditions can also be viewed via closed-circuit television feeds on the agency’s official website.
