T7 Global names new hydraulic workover unit in Terengganu

KUALA LUMPUR: Energy solutions provider T7 Global Bhd officially named its hydraulic workover unit (HWU), TSEVEN RYAN 460K, during a naming ceremony held in Kemaman, Terengganu, which was graced by Terengganu state executive councillor Datuk Hanafiah Mat together with representatives from Petroliam Nasional Bhd and Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM).

TSEVEN RYAN 460K is a modular, lightweight unit equipped with advanced technologies, including a vertical pipe racking system, a BOP suspension system, a 360-degree jib crane, and a 32-inch large-through-bore, enabling it to perform complex workover and plug-and-abandonment operations efficiently within a compact footprint.

The HWU unit primarily operates in Malaysian waters to perform well workovers, well abandonments, and conductor removals.

T7 Global executive director Tan Kay Zhuin said the company is delighted to celebrate the successful naming of TSEVEN RYAN 460K, which reflects its continued investment in high-quality assets to support the growing needs of the oil and gas industry.

“This HWU strengthens our well services capabilities and positions the group to capture opportunities in workover, well intervention and plug and abandonment activities, particularly in Malaysia and the region.

“We are proud to collaborate with MPM and other industry players in the establishment of the HWU Academy in 2024, a structured and industry-aligned platform aimed at developing regional talent in hydraulic workover and abandonment operations.

“The initiative supports the strengthening of local capabilities and the development of a sustainable talent pipeline to meet Malaysia’s long-term decommissioning agenda,” he said.
