Woman complains about RM65 salary raise, netizens say ‘Clear your MC and move on’

Malaysian employee complains about RM65 raise, sparking viral netizen reactions about low salary increments and MC days.

A Malaysian employee has gone viral online after sharing their disappointment over this year’s pay increment, sparking discussions about salary fairness in the workplace.

In the post, the employee said: “Thanks to my company. Last year my increment was RM64, this year RM65.

“Already ready to use up my 14 days of MC.

“I feel a bit upset because whether my performance is an A or B, I still only get 60+, while some people get an A grade and an increment of over 100,” she wrote.

The post highlights the growing frustration among workers who feel their efforts and performance aren’t adequately recognized, especially when increments appear to vary widely despite similar results.

Netizens quickly shared their own experiences, with many expressing empathy and others questioning the company’s appraisal system.

“Meanwhile… my bonus is 0… my increment is 0… and my angpao is RM10,” little_imanamzar shared.

“I’ve worked at stingy companies before, but never as low as a RM60 increment. Still, five months after switching companies, Alhamdulillah, my salary has gone up by almost RM1,000, babe!” _sssara.el commented.

“Hahaha, when your increment goes up less than 10%, you definitely have to use up your MC. I support this because my old company was the same,” raranazry_ joked.
