An unemployed man has pleaded guilty to robbing and injuring a cook in Kuala Lumpur, with sentencing scheduled for late April.
KUALA LUMPUR: An unemployed man pleaded guilty in the Sessions Court here to robbing a cook near a food stall in Pudu two weeks ago.
S. Gunasegaran, 42, entered the plea after the charge was read before Judge K. Pavani.
The judge then fixed April 27 for sentencing.
Gunasegaran was charged with robbing 50-year-old Choo Teck San and causing injury to the victim along Jalan Pudu at 10.30 pm on March 12.
The charge falls under Section 394 of the Penal Code.
Upon conviction, it provides for a maximum jail term of 20 years, and a fine or whipping.
Deputy public prosecutor Nur Iwanina Ibrahim did not offer bail as the offence is non-bailable.
She applied for a sentencing date to be set, with Gunasegaran being unrepresented in court.
